Film and Conference by Pierre Dutrievoz
Come and watch the screening of Pierre Dutrievoz's film "Greenland where icebergs are born". This is the story of an expedition with his two sons to Greenland. Pierre Dutrievoz comes to discuss with the audience, answer your questions....
Somewhere, in the far North, in a secret dwelling, on a Danish archipelago, the Greenland , icebergs are being born...
the glacier's round belly gifts them with freedom to drift, like giant babies of the sea..
At the term of an endless travel of 400 kilometers across a territory combed by storms and haunted by the solitary white bear,
Pierre DUTRIEVOZ, Lorentz and Niels- a father and his two sons aged 11 and 15- reach this secret place in the spring of 2013 with their Inuit friends, marking on the smooth mirror of the Greenland icy immensity one of the most beautiful stories of arctic exploration of the last decade. In this film, real, imaginary children, poetry, difficulties are mixed together... In the long version of the film, which will be shown, discover in addition their preparation, the learning to be able to build igloos, unpublished extracts of their lives with the Inuit...
Director and visual artist, Pierre Dutrievoz has studied at the Zurich School of Fine Arts and the Toulouse Film School. He is also a high mountain guide, and carries out many technical routes in the Alps as well as high altitude expeditions in the mountains of the world.
Very early on, he combined these two passions for esthetic creation and high mountains by working on the shooting of adventure films for television, as a sound recorder, scriptwriter and then director.
This film received the jean Marc BOIVIN award at the DIJON International Festival of Adventure Screens and was part of the official selection at COP 21 PARIS.
