An iconic piste is many things: a story, strong sensations and emotions, grandiose landscapes, memories, commitment, and with that little something special, yet indefinable, that is the stuff of legends... in Méribel and in the 3 valleys, they are numerous!
MAUDUIT, THE PISTE TO SKI !
Georges Mauduit, an alpine skier of international renown in the 1960s, gave his name to one of the world's most iconic pistes, the Mauduit. This red run requires commitment, wide at the top, steeper and narrower as it enters the forest, it offers a long descent with a difference in altitude of more than 1,000 meters! It is perfectly shaped for large sinuous carved turns. Will you rise to the physical challenge required to descend from the summit of the mountain to the heart of Méribel? Access via Saulire Express gondola 1&2.
LA FACE, AN OLYMPIK DOWNHILL
Located next to the Roc de Fer piste, this black run is uncompromising with a very demanding start. After the steep part, the flatter parts that follow leave more freedom of expression. It was on this piste that the women's events of the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games were held. Go and test this iconic piste and put yourself in the shoes of a champion! Access via the Olympic chairlift.
ROC DE FER, THE MAKERS OF CHAMPIONS
The stage for the finals of the Alpine Ski World Cup finals in 2015, the Roc de Fer piste is definitely iconic!
We have lost count of the number of French and international ski champions who have left their tracks on this 2.5 km long run. This piste is to skiing what the Maracana is to football, a dream! Access via the Olympic chairlift.
THE GOPRO COULOIR
Adrenalin junkie? Try the Tournier corridor at the top of Saulire. With a gradient that in parts is close to 75%, it is THE ideal spot to show off your freeride skills on steep slopes. And as proof, the brand Gopro has claimed it as its favourite playground of the 3 Valleys! A totally original experience, accessible via Saulire Express 1&2 gondola.
THE COMBE DU VALLON, ONE OF THE JEWELS OF THE 3 VALLEES
After a pause to enjoy the sublime panorama of peaks and glaciers visible from the top, set off down the iconic piste of the Combe du Vallon. A consistently steep slope, 3km long, relatively demanding and often bumpy... From the summit, dive straight into ski at its purist, technical, motivating, with a breath-taking views of the beautiful Méribel Valley below and the icing on top... the plunging view down to Lake Tueda!
Once at the bottom, you will be able to say with a big grin, "I skied the colossus of the 3 Valleys", and then do it over again! Access via the Mont du Vallon gondola.
ROC DE TOUGNE, YOU’RE BACK TO THE WILD
A wild environment, always great quality snow because of being north facing, two of the most iconic runs of the Valley, generally little known by the general public...
Dive head-first down the black run Bartavelle: an initial steep slope, and then take time to admire the Arolles perched on the rocks in the small folds of the tiny Dolomitesque valley. After this short break, concentrate on the demands of the rolling slope and find the racer within you! Access via Roc de Tougne chairlift.
IN THE COURCHEVEL VALLEY …
JOCKEYS, THE SECRETE PISTE
This relatively little used run guarantees a moment of pure happiness and calm amongst snow-capped fir trees and a plunging view over the lake at le Praz: 1.5 km long and with an average slope gradient of 45%, it is one of the iconic unmissable pistes to ski on any visit to the 3 Valleys! Access via forest chairlift.
THE GRAND COULOIR, THE MOST DIFFICULT PISTE OF THE 3 VALLEYS
Once you have navigated the narrow ridge at the top, dive into the blackest corridor of the 3 Valleys: 900m in length, 350m of drop and a maximum slope of 85%... Are you ready for the adrenaline rush reserved for good skiers and snowboarders? Access via Saulire.
IN VAL THORENS …
THE CHRISTINE, THE ICONIC PISTE OF VAL THORENS.
700 metres of altitude difference on a red run that delivers plenty of sensation! It owes its name to the famous French skier Christine Goitschel. Access via Péclet funitel.
CIME CARON, AN ASCENT TO HEAVEN.

Located in the Boismint area, famous for its early morning sunshine and snow conditions, this blue piste is an ideal playground for a family ski. Access via Boismint chairlift.

Feel the need to be alone surrounded only by breath-taking scenery? Come and test the iconic Jerusalem run, a little hidden gem, it offers a gentle shaped route in the middle of the mountains. Access via Saint Martin express 6 man chairlift.
POINTE DE LA MASSE
At 2804 metres above sea level, this is the summit of Les Menuires: a 360° panoramic view, with a unique view over the Alps and a protected slope, full of surprises, the wild beauty of the Valley des Encombres, or an easy descent down the Bouquetin blue slope or even the Covili red run.
